A short walkthrough of Zambia’s online livestock auction and bidding platform.
AgriBid Zambia (agribidzambia.com) is an online auction and bidding platform that connects livestock farmers and buyers nationwide. Sellers list cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, poultry, and horses, while buyers browse, bid, or instantly purchase — all priced in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW). The platform is built to make livestock trading transparent, competitive, and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.
How the Platform Works
AgriBid supports two types of listings. Live and timed auctions allow buyers to compete for an animal until the countdown hits zero — the highest bid wins. "For Sale" (Buy Now) listings allow buyers to purchase instantly at a fixed price, with no bidding required. Every listing includes photos, breed details, weight, age, and seller information so buyers can make informed decisions.
For Buyers: 4 Steps to Bid
• Register: Create a free buyer account with your name, email, and contact details. Verification unlocks bidding.
• Browse: Filter listings by species, breed, region, and price. Review photos, health records, and pedigree.
• Bid: Place a bid that meets the minimum increment (typically ZMW 50). You can also set a maximum proxy bid and let the system bid for you up to that limit.
• Pay & Collect: If you win, arrange payment and collection directly with the seller. Payment is due within 48 hours of auction close.
For Farmers: 5 Steps to Sell
• Register & get approved: Sign up as a seller with your farm and contact details. Admin verifies your account before you can list.
• Access the Seller Hub: Manage animals, listings, and bids from one dashboard.
• Create your listing: Upload clear photos, write a detailed description (breed, age, weight, health records), and choose between an auction or fixed-price sale.
• Manage the auction: Track bids, views, and buyer questions in real time.
• Close the sale: If the auction ends with no bids, it automatically rolls over into a Buy Now listing — so your animal stays visible.
Payment, Trust & Support
AgriBid accepts EFT, bank deposits, and mobile money via MTN and Airtel. All sellers are verified, and livestock must have up-to-date veterinary and vaccination records before listing. If an animal does not match its description, buyers can raise a dispute within 72 hours of collection for review by the support team.
